Wastewater Treatment Plant Trainee or Operator

TOWN OF FRONT ROYAL, VIRGINIA

 

The Town of Front Royal is looking for individuals who would like to become members of our Wastewater Treatment Plant team. We offer training including college level classes, on-the-job and self-study courses.  
 
This position is full-time and requires shift work including nights, weekends and rotating shifts and rotating days off.  Duties include monitoring, making adjustments to the operations of a wastewater treatment plant, sample collection of the processes, performing laboratory analysis, recording flows, interpreting operational data, assisting mechanics making repairs to machinery and equipment. A high school diploma or equivalent experience and training are required. Applicants must also have a valid Virginia driver's license and an excellent driving record.
 
Salary Range:
Trainee entry level rate begins at $12.83 per hour
Class IV Certification begins at $13.49
Class III Certification begins at $14.16
Class II Certification begins at $15.64
 
All successful applicants must pass a pre-employment, post-offer physical exam and drug screen, paid by the Town and criminal record check performed by the Virginia State Police.
