Maintenance Worker - Horticulture Division

TOWN OF FRONT ROYAL, VIRGINIA

 

Position is open in our Environmental Services Department in the Horticulture Division. Experience with horticulture, including landscape maintenance, backhoe operation, tree pruning, and tree removal and care of plants is preferred.  Position will also work in the snow removal operation.  Essential job duties include ability to work in extreme weather conditions, ability to operate vehicles and ability to occasionally lift and carry heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Successful applicants must have a previous work record with good attendance and a driver’s license in good standing.   A Class B CDL is preferred or ability to obtain within three (3) months of employment.  Beginning rate of pay is $11.08/hr.

 

The successful applicant will be required to take and pass a pre-employment, post-offer physical exam and drug screening, paid for by the Town and background check conducted by the Virginia State Police.  First review of applications is Monday, October 24, 2016.  Position is open until filled.
