PUBLIC HEARINGS

The Front Royal Town Council will hold the following public hearings on Monday, January 28, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the Warren County Government Center’s Board Meeting Room, to consider:

  • A conditional rezoning application submitted by BMW Real Estate L.L.C., owner of Tax Map #20A101 4A2 (1.68 acres), which is a vacant lot located to the east of 986 John Marshall Highway. The request is to amend the proffers for the property that were approved as part of rezoning application #RZ05-10-57, that was a revision of the original proffers approved in the year 2000. The property is located within the C-1 Zoning District. The proposed changes primarily amend the list of uses that are restricted on the property, but also include other minor changes, including but not limited to changes to the Front Royal landscaping and future building exterior requirements.

  • FRSPU-001063-2018. Special Use Permit Application, submitted by David Dixon, for approval to build a single-family detached dwelling on an existing nonconforming lot on W. 18th Street. The subject property is zoned R-1 District and located on Tax Map #20A2-2-5, immediately to the west of 114 W 18th Street. The lot is nonconforming due to the lot width, which is 45 feet, rather than the ordinance prescribed minimum lot width of 75 feet. Conditional approval was recommended by the Planning Commission.

  • FRSPU-001089-2018. Special Use Permit Application, submitted by Samuel R. Millar, VFW Post 1860, for establishment of a VFW lodge (Assembly Hall), and including a Site Plan Application (FRSITE-001090-2018). The property is the same as where the former VFW Lodge was located, before it was destroyed by fire and demolished over 2 years ago. The Tax Map # is 20A3-1-2 and the portion of the property where the lodge will be located is within the I-1 Zoning District and Floodplain Overlay District. The proposed new lodge is designed to be elevated and designed to comply with current floodplain regulations. A curb & gutter waiver request is also requested. Conditional approval was recommended by the Planning Commission.

All interested persons are invited to attend these hearings to express their views.
