Water Treatment

The Town owns and operates a Water Treatment Plant to ensure a plentiful supply of potable water to its residents and several Warren County customers for human consumption and fire suppression. The Plant currently is rated to supply up to 6.0 million gallons of water per day (MGD). The majority of the Town's water is obtained from the South Fork of the Shenandoah River with additional water coming from Happy Creek and Sloan Creek.

The Town's tap water is safe and is higher quality than that required for all state and federal requirements for drinking water. Each employee at the Water Treatment Plant is committed to producing the highest quality water. The environmental quality of the water produced is in accordance with the rigorous standards established by the Virginia Department of Health (VDH), Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) and the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to assure safety to the consumer and the environment.

Annual Water Quality Report

The Town provides an Annual Water Quality Report that summarizes the treatment quality.
