Street Maintenance

The Town's maintenance operations are directed toward the safe travel of motorists, bicyclists, pedestrians and the preservation of the road surface. Maintenance is either performed by Public Works crews or contracted to larger construction firms.

Responsibilities of Street Maintenance Include:
  • Maintenance of over 140 lanes miles of streets and 5 miles of alleys
  • Inspection and maintenance of 11 bridges and culvert bridges
  • Pothole repair
  • Routine street sweeping
  • Inspection of street signage and pavement marking
  • Routine Town property maintenance
  • Maintenance of sidewalks, trails and crosswalks
  • Collection of dead animals in the Town rights-of-way
  • Snow and ice removal
