The Clerk of Council is appointed by and reports to the Town Council and is responsible for the preparation and distribution of the Town Council meeting agendas and minutes. The Clerk attends every meeting of the Council and serves as the liaison between the Council and the public, advising applicants on the results of their inquiries, and the Clerk is entrusted with the care and custody of the Town's corporate seal.
Tina Presley was appointed Clerk of Council in March 2020. She also serves as the Senior Executive Assistant to the Town Manager. She was hired as a Police Dispatcher in 1981. In 1983 she transferred to the Finance Department as a Clerk/Typist and later as a Bookkeeper Trainee. In 1988 Mrs. Presley resigned from the Town for family reasons. In 1993 she was hired as Deputy Clerk of Council and worked part-time in the Town Manager’s Office. In 2005 she became a full-time Senior Administrative Assistant to the Town Manager and later promoted to Executive Assistant in 2012 and Senior Executive Assistant in 2018. Mrs. Presley became a “Certified Administrative Professional specializing in Organization Management” (CAP-OM) through the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) in 2010 and graduated from Lord Fairfax Community College in 2017 with an AAS Degree in “Administrative Support Technology with a Specialization in Virtual Assistant.”
