Summer Work Hours

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has announced that the contractor working on Happy Creek Road will begin working at 7:00am and end work at 5:00pm during the summer. The additional work hours are anticipated to allow the contractor to advance the schedule and accomodate school traffic in the fall. 

Motorists are advised to follow detour signs and expect delays as various intersections will be closed and a one-lane traffic signal will be installed in this area and will only permit travel in one direction. 

The contractor has  also closed a portion of Happy Creek Road from Polk Avenue to 6th Street now through November to facilitate the creation of a new intersection of Happy Creek Road and 6th Street.
