Chapter 148 SUBDIVISION AND LAND DEVELOPMENT. (updated 7-28-08)
Section 148-39 MONUMENTS.
A. Location:
right-of-way. Monuments
capable of location by metal detection shall be set at all points of
tangent
and points of curve in each new street. Monuments shall be at
least
thirty (30) inches long and three (3) inches in diameter or three (3)
inches
square. The top of each monument shall have an appropriate mark
to
properly identify the location and shall be set flush with the finished
grade.
Following completion of road work, a steel pin shall be placed to
mark the
center of each new street intersection and the radius point of
each new
cul-de-sac.
B. Location:
lot corners. All lot corners
shall be marked with steel rods not less than one-half (1/2) inch in
diameter
and twenty-four (24) inches long, driven flush with the finished grade.
C. All
required monuments shall be installed by the
subdivider. Upon completion of subdivision streets, sewers and
other
improvements, the subdivider shall make certain that all monuments
required by
the town are clearly visible for inspection and use. Such
monuments shall
be inspected and approved by the town before any improvements are
accepted by
the governing body.
