The Patrol Division is responsible for preserving the peace, protecting life and property, and maintaining the balance between law and order and individual liberty, (24) hours a day, (7) days a week. This is accomplished by constant patrols of the Town’s streets by marked and unmarked vehicles, motorcycle, bicycle and foot. Each squad is composed of a Sergeant and Corporal as supervisors and (4) patrol officers. Much of their time is spent being on the lookout for criminal activity, potential disturbances, traffic violations, hazards, dangerous situations/conditions and people in need of assistance.
AUXILIARY POLICE OFFICERS are an integral part of the Department’s overall operation. They are all non-paid volunteers. They provide supplemental support in areas of patrol and administrative activities. They are provided law enforcement training and uniforms at the Town’s expense.
BIKE PATROL was made possible through a grant from the Division of Motor Vehicles. There are currently (2) officers assigned to the Bike Patrol. They are used in several special events.
